Ooooohhhh newborns!!

It’s been over a month since my last newborn session. I love doing these!!! And look at her. What an amazingly perfect baby. She was getting a little cold, and needed a cuddle, so I got to snuggle for a few minutes. What a cool job I have! I love that mom wanted to leave the hospital braclet on her leg. Shows how fresh she is!

Faithful clients

As we were doing this session, we got talking about how long I’ve been photographing these girls. The first session we did was when the older daughter was just a few months old. I’ve got to see them almost every year since then! They’re both little sweethearts, and this time around, Casey and the younger sister made fast friends. Casey wanted to be in the studio while we were shooting, and they had a blast driving trucks around while we were busy with big sister!

Unfriendly weather conditions….

Did anyone in southern Saskatchewan feel the wind on saturday??? We sure did! It was literally blowing us over. We were only able to spend about 15 minutes outside, and between the frigid temperature, the late time of day, and the 80 km winds, it didn’t make for a very pleasant outdoor experience :(  Thankfully, these two were willing to tough it out for a couple minutes, and we got a surprising amount of shots in such a short time. It wasn’t easy, but it got done.  Hope you guys were able to warm up once you got back to your reception!

This was the authentic, show how cold it was in real life, shot. We did a very quick one without jackets as well, but I thought this one captured the feeling of the day better!

Digging in the archives

Well, it was really only about a month and a half ago, but we held off posting til now. This is Carla Taylor, a local musician who has been many places with her music career, including living in Nashville for awhile! We did an photo shoot in the fall so she could have a more updated portfolio. We had a great time running around town trying new stuff. Check out her myspace page (click on her name to be redirected to her page).

Quote time!

“Finish each day and be done with it.  You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbred with your old nonsense.”    -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Warm cuddles

Because of the smashing great weather we had (is the sarcasm coming through loud and clear???), we did quite a few “cuddling” poses. Yes, it was cold again, but oh well. It is the end of October. You can’t expect +15 temps anymore I suppose. We worked with the wind, as usual, and managed to make it work to our advantage for a few shots. Shot #2 wouldn’t have been the same without the wind swept hair! Oh, and nice teeth J!

I quickly ran these guys in front (or parallel I should say) to the train that was whizzing past. It only works once in a while to get this “zooming train in the background” shot, but I always get a kick out of it.

Finally, a post with pictures!

Before I talk about this post, I want to say that it’s been waaaay too long without a post, but it’s just been crazy around here. The other reason there haven’t been any picture posts in the past week is because I’ve done a few sessions lately that have requested no blog posts (Christmas is coming up and pictures make great presents!!)

Anyway, here is my last grad of the fall. You’d think by looking at her in this first picture that it was a beautiful day. While it was sunny, it was anything but beautiful. Cold, cold, cold, and crazy windy. I’m not sure how her hair stayed so well in this shot! You’ll notice by the end of the post, the jacket went on. It was a gorgeous jacket, so it worked just as well!

Christmas deadlines

Just a quick note to let everyone know about the Christmas deadlines….

Gallery Wrap Canvas Prints - November 10th

Montages - November 20th

Regular Print Orders - December 1st

Christmas cards - December 10th

Albums - NOW!!!!  albums take a lot of design time, and I already have a large list of ones to do up before Christmas, so unless you get an album order in by the end of this week, IT WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED FOR CHRISTMAS DELIVERY.  I will try my best to get them done, if albums are ordered at a later date, but it will be a tight squeeze  :)

Orders placed after these dates will not be guaranteed for Christmas delivery, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get your orders in earlier, rather than later!

A note about posting images on Facebook….

In the last year or two, since Facebook has exploded, I’ve seen lots of my pictures end up on people’s accounts. Normally I would not have a problem with that, except for the fact that some of the people who posted their pictures never actually placed a print order through me, or ordered a very minimal amount.  Because of this, I have disabled the right click on all my blog posts.  I would like to not have to do this, but at the same time, I have to protect myself from image theft.

I realize that the majority of people do place orders, and are just wanting to share their images with friends and family. I also know that it’s great advertising for me, when my studio logo is included on those images.  When the images are just scanned into the computer, they can look dirty and not all that clear. Now here’s my solution, so you can all have a few files, and they will be sharp and awesome looking!

For every $100.00 worth of prints that you order, you will recieve 2 web ready files (from files that you’ve ordered prints from), with a small studio logo, similar to the way they’re displayed on the blog.  Soooo……

A $200.00 print order would get you 4 files, a $300.00 order would get you 6 files, and so on.

If you’ve placed an order since the beginning of September, and would like to choose a few files to post online, please let me know.  If you are still figuring out your order, keep this in mind so you can let me know which files to resize and e-mail to you.

Thanks for listening to my little rant!

New Product

I’ve finally got to adding a product to the Accessories part of my online store! So for anyone that has their gallery up on the www.pmpphotocart.com  site, you can click on Accessory Store, and you will find this little folder listed. I do plan on getting other things up there eventually, but for now, I’ve got this. Baby steps!  It holds 10 - 4 x 6 prints, so it’s perfect for if you’re ordering the Grad Memories or Family Memories package. The color is a hard to describe kind of brown. It has a linen texture, so it almost has a grey tone to it, if that makes sense. They’re very nice looking anyway, whatever the color description.
