Little Kiwi

Before Christmas I had my youngest client ever. I can claim this family as having travelled the farthest for a photo session. They have been living in New Zealand for a year or two. Now I can’t claim that they came back just to get pictures done, but I am pretty flattered that they made time in their busy holiday visiting to come and see me. I did their wedding a few years back, and now am getting to document the start of their family!

Although this little traveller wasn’t super excited to see me, I think we got some great shots of him in the end. In his last few weeks in Canada, he’s been passed around to nearly 80 people and has been on the road steady, meeting family and friends. No wonder he wasn’t all that into getting one more person in his face! He’s a sweet boy though, and will be very loved and missed when they head back home to New Zealand. Thanks for popping in guys!! Have a great time with the rest of your holiday.

3 1/2 days young

This little man has officially become my youngest client ever! These wonderful parents made the hour long drive up from Regina, in frigid weather, only days after giving birth. Amazing!! I’m just so unbelievably flattered that they were willing to do that. I never even did my own kid’s pictures when they were this small, because I could hardly bear to walk more than a few feet from the couch!

We had the studio toasty warm, and baby slept peacefully through me taking off clothes, rearranging blankets, flopping him from position to position, and he even had a bit of a poop in mid air! Always fun with a newborn  :)  I know I’m posting a lot of pictures, but come on. How can I not? He’s a newborn for goodness sakes. I could have pulled a half dozen more to put up too, but I controlled myself!

Hockey pride

When girls come for grad pictures, you see a lot of fancy shoes and accesories. When guys come, quite often a hockey jersey is the garment of choice. What can I say. We’re a Canadian nation. And yes, that picture was taken this week, outside, in -32 degrees.  We took a total of 3 shots before our ears and fingers started loosing color!

My canvas!!!!!!!!

Today my canvas of my boys finally came in from my lab!! Now I understand everyone’s anticipation to get their prints back. This is the picture I’ve been most excited about of my kids. It’s a 30 x 20 canvas, and it’s PERFECT! I used to be in the school of thinking that big prints weren’t something that I’d want on my walls. Was I ever wrong. I am in love with this canvas, and I now can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want a big honkin’ image on their walls! We spend so much on other home decor, that this really makes the most sense. It makes me happy everytime I walk through the living room  :)

Gift Certificates

Oh yah! Gift certificates are of course always available as well.

Last minute Christmas shopping

If you’re still searching for a unique gift for someone, I have some gems for you! I have two canvas prints in stock and one framed print (Award winning I might add. For anyone who follows the blog regularly, you hopefully remember the truck picture.)

I also carry Bernie Brown prints. They are all the smaller sizes ( 6 x 8, 5 x 7, etc). There are a number of elevator, hockey, and farm scenes. I also have the ever popular KIDS PEEING ON THINGS, that everyone seems to love. :)

If you’re interested in anything, please give me a call at 697-2435 or drop by the studio.

Merry Christmas!!

Last season

This wedding was from awhile back, but I had a relative wanting to order some more prints recently. I enjoyed working with this couple soooo much. They are just awesome people. When their little girl was born, the drove out from Regina when she was 5 or 6 days old to do a newborn session. She was so sweet, and I got to see her the other day again as a cute squishy 8 month old!

Another album

I’ve been enjoying all this album designing in the past couple of weeks, since I stopped taking sessions in mid november. I’ve designed 8 albums in the last two weeks, and I’ve got a few weddings ones left to go! The only problem is that I’ve been snacking on Lindor dark chocolates while I’m at my computer for so many long hours.  Strong coffee and Lindor chocolates are my morning sins :)

I had so many of these little albums to design, and they take a bit of time. I just love seeing the finished product though. It’s such a great keepsake. I do tend to take a LOT of pictures during my sessions, and more and more people have been getting these 5×7 albums so they can showcase more of their images. There are only so many you can put on the walls, and this is something you can take along with you to brag with!

Details, details, details

Last friday I got to attend the most beautiful wedding. The couple put on a fabulous party for their guests, and I just wanted to showcase some of the exquisite details from that day. The food was done by Zest in Regina, the flowers by Gale’s Florist. It was an incredible day and I was so happy to be included in it!
