Thanks so much for making the drive out from the city guys. I had such a great time photographing your baby doll.

I had ordered these albums just before Christmas, but hadn’t gotten a chance to do a sample one up yet. Last week I finally got one sent out for printing. These albums are 5 x 5, and hold 10 prints. They won’t be done in collage style, as my other albums are. These will be simple layouts, with simple, pretty borders and will work great for any session type. I take alot of images during my sessions, so instead of getting a bunch of 4 x 6s that will get either left in the package, or put in an album with plastic sleeves, do something special with your favorites. This will be an album that you’ll love for years to come. They’re from the States, and I only got 10 in (and used one for a sample!). Now with the exchange rate not as good, I’m not sure if I’m going to carry them permanently. If you’re interested in purchasing one (even if you had pictures done in the fall), let me know. I will be offering them to my grad classes next month, so don’t wait if you think you’re like to get one.
This morning, I had a good friend of mine come to the studio to help me catch up on a few things. We took a quick photoshoot break, so I could try out my new lens. Since the wind was nearing tornado strength (gotta love Southern Saskatchewan winds), we only did a few shots outside. These are alot more heavily processed than what I normally do, but since they were for fun, I thought I’d experiment. I love this look, but I know it’s not for everyone. Thanks for coming in today and giving me a hand Kim!
These two images are from the wedding I shot last weekend at Hotel Sask. I was just going through them tonight, and wanted to try some different looks for them. I liked the antique-y (I know that’s not a real word!) feel to them, so since I hadn’t posted in a few days, I thought I’d throw these up.

Look at the cool new product that I’m carrying now!! I’m so stinkin’ excited about these little puzzles. I guess I’m easy to please, but I just got two in today from my own images, and I LOVE them! They are really well made, and my boys got a kick out of putting a puzzle together that had their faces on it! They’re 60 pieces and are 8 x 10 in size. If you like the idea and want to get one made from your session, even if it was from a few months (or years!) ago, just let me know. They came back super quickly too. I think I only uploaded them last week, and I got them back today. They’d make a great birthday present for a kid.
With the way the roads were this weekend around our area, I was nervous that I’d have a hard time making it into the city for this wedding. Thank goodness everything was fine, and my husband even came along to help me with it. That doesn’t happen very often, so it was nice to have him around (he carries equiptment very well!) After doing a few shots in the beautiful Hotel Sask, we headed across the street to the park and did a few more outdoor ones. The sun is so gorgeous in the winter when it starts getting low. The boys had a little fun with the snow, and I tried to get a few action shots. I don’t think the groomsman from Bermuda was enjoying the weather too much though!
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of meeting this totally beautiful couple. They are just quality people. I enjoyed our session together so much, and I really appreciate the fact that they drove from Saskatoon, with terrible roads, and were still happy and cheerful when they got to the studio. I just know that their spring wedding is going to be a perfect, laid back, fun filled day. Thank you so much for making such a long drive down guys! Glad you made it home safely.

O.k. locals. Another trivia question. Where did I shoot this image?? Again, like the hood of the truck, maybe it’ll be an easy one. In fact, yes, it will be easy, but I’ve never shot here before, and I liked the glowy reflection!
No available session times left.
I will only be accepting a very limited amount of sessions in March and April.
I will only be accepting graduating students for the months of May & June. Exceptions will be newborns only.
I apologize to anyone who was hoping to book a session from March until the end of June. I’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of sessions I’ve had in this past year, and I really have to be careful not to take on too much. When I do, I am not able to provide effecient service, or keep myself organized.
If you were planning on doing a fall session, please contact me now to book a date. By mid summer this past year, I was pretty much booked up until the end of October. If you call now, you’ll get first choice. I also have a lot of fall weddings in ‘09, so weekend sessions will be limited.
I just wanted to send out a little reminder to any grad students who were thinking of booking with me this spring for their formal grad pics. I am already getting quite full for May and June, with no available weekends and only a few fridays. I am currently booking sessions in the evenings, monday through friday. If you were wanting to book, but haven’t yet, PLEASE CALL!! I am only able to take a few more sessions.
I will most likely be accepting only Grad students for sessions in May and June, so if you were thinking of getting a different type of session done, there is a good possibility that I won’t be able to fit it in these two months. Exceptions would be pregnancy and newborn sessions.
The girl with the umbrella has started to pursue her passion for photography as well, and is a faithful blog follower of mine. Aren’t you purdy Marnie! Even rainy days can work for grad pics, so no worries! Her whole session was pouring rain, but we got the majority of her shots done outdoors, under porches, trees, umbrellas, etc. And look how colorful my weedy garden looks in the background. Not bad, eh!
Cancelled!! They had a fairly good excuse though. It was a pregnancy session, and I got a phone call from the daddy-to-be later on in the afternoon. His message said this:
“Hi Tatum. We were supposed to come in for a photo session tonight, but Christine decided to have a baby instead, so I guess we probably won’t be able to make it”.
I thought the message was so hilarious that I had to save it for me husband to listen to. I’m just amazed that with everything going on that they took the time to call me! I haven’t heard what they had yet, but I hope everything went well. Best of luck guys!
