Catching up

I’m a little behind with my blogging, so I put these two sessions together, even though I did them a week apart. Sorry! I will try to be better, and blog my next few a little quicker. :)

Another batch of unique grads

Saturday was another day full of grad students. I did my first ever grad with a semi (have done weddings with semis, but no grads!).  I also got to do a few sessions with guitars (I love guitar sessions!).  It was a good day, and there was lots of variety. Thanks for all coming down guys. Enjoy the little preview.

Dimples

On friday morning it was a windy chilly day, but as always, a little wind can work to your advantage sometimes. And when you move into the studio, you can still have the windy look!  Oh, and as for the title of this post, I’m running out of ideas on what to name all these grad sessions, but I loved her dimples, so I thought that would work.

She’s back!

Well, we made it for both sessions with none of the forcasted snow!! I’m sooo beyond thrilled. We even had sun!  This girl looked so great  in her casuals we did in Wolseley last night that I knew she would be stunning in her grad gown.  The black is just so striking and timeless.  There were a lot of heads turning when we were shooting uptown, that’s for sure.  :)

I liked both the color version and the glamourous old hollywood look too, so I included both.  :)

Evening shoot

I’m such a happy girl today. I did my first evening shoot of the year, albeit a cold one. It’s so nice that the light is staying for a bit longer in the day now. That golden evening color is the prettiest for shooting. I just love it.

This girl deserves a big post. She came from over 2 hours away for her grad session. We did it in Wolseley, because I have done so many grad shoots in Grenfell lately, that I needed a change. After we were done, she headed into Regina for the night, and will be returning friday afternoon to do her formal pictures in her grad dress. So I thought because she travelled so far, and we got such pretty shots in some new locations, I’d post a lot. Come back to the blog at the end of the weekend, because her formals will be up soon too!

Faithful clients

The family of this little boy are such wonderful clients. They come down to visit and get photographed quite often. This man in blue is their second, and he was so such a sweetheart. Last time he was here, he wasn’t walking, so that was much easier, but this time was a lot of fun, chasing him down!  He had his mouse stuffy with him, and he loved that thing. He was cuddling like crazy with it!  After doing a few shots inside, we decided to head uptown. I shoot alot of grads on main street, but I’ve wanted to do a kid session there for awhile. I like the way they turned out against the buildings, and big brother even hopped in for a shot or two.

Oops! Missed one

I have to send my apologies out to this girl… I totally forgot to post your session on the blog! I did this session the day before my big weekend with the Whitewood students, and in the hecticness of that, I completely missed posting these pics first. It was pouring rain on this afternoon, so we didn’t really get to do much outside. You can see the rain on the window, and on the one outside shot, if you really look hard, you can see the silvery spots of rain in the background! Not a nice outdoor picture day, but we rushed out for about 30 seconds anyway.

Whitewood Grad - Day 2

For a day that was supposed to be +13 and sunny, it was pretty dreary and grey. Oh well. At least it didn’t rain. It was a touch windy, but we got some good hair movement, so it’s all good. :)

Friday was all boys, and one girl. Saturday, all girls, and one boy. So I tried to hit some prettier spots, instead of the more urban ones like the boys. Dead flower beds worked really well! I know I’ve got a few shots that are all golden and a little bit similar, but I was really having fun shooting through the dried flower stalks.

I am in love with this image. I was so excited when I shot it. I knew it was going to be a keeper. This boy had STYLE!

Whitewood grads - Day 1

The last two days have been a bit hectic. I shot the Whitewood graduating class friday and saturday. Because the snow is gone, and the weather is somewhat cooperative, we were outside for all the sessions. I scoured town for new spots and crevices that I could use, so I really covered alot of ground in the past few days. I used areas that I had never thought of before, and tried to change it up quite a bit. It’s hard to find a different location for each grad within Grenfell, but I did my best!  I’m sure alot of Grenfellers saw me in all sorts of odd places! Passersby are probably wondering how on earth anything could look good when they see where I’m shooting, but there’s alot of character in town. It’s just matter of using a new angle/lens/view.

I had so much fun with you guys. Thanks for all coming down. Stay tuned for the second half in a day or two. There are lots more to come!

Easter break

I decided this year that I needed to keep the Easter weekend off from work to spend with family. We had perfect weather up at my parent’s cabin, and got a chance to visit with lots of friends and relatives. I won’t bore you with all the people pictures, but here are a few fun shots I got throughout the weekend, since I haven’t had a post in a few days.
