Another mommy

I’ve had so many mommys lately, and this was the latest one. She brought some other important people along with her as well, so it was nice to involve them in some of the images. Her little girl is pretty excited to be a big sister, and she will be a super helper I’m sure.  Good luck with your last few weeks!

Playground fun

Afternoons at the playground are a good way to spend some time. We packed a picnic basket with lunch (which no one ate), a couple golf clubs and the camera. My 8 year old asked me why there weren’t any pictures of himself on my blog, so basically, this post is for him. :)

Of couse I’m never actually in a picture, so I got each of the boys to take one of me with them. My 8 year old took the above image, and my little guy took the one below. It’s a pretty heavy camera, and with his little hands, he could barely hold onto it, and reach his finger up to the shutter. He did do it though, and this was the only shot he got! Not too bad. :)  You’ll have to excuse our ratty appearance. Playground don’t warrant makeup and hair styling.

Bikers come to Grenfell

On thursday morning we had about 60 bikers roll into town for a good cause. They were riding to raise money for the Children’s Make a Wish Foundation.  Click on the link to go to the Saskatchewan chapter and if you can donate something, please do!

For bike lovers, this was an awesome morning. A few locals stopped in over their lunch breaks to check everything out. The bikers all pulled into town at Sooper B’s Esso to stop for gas and a coffee. I got to mingle with them all, check out the bikes and get some cool  images for their website. I even scaled my way onto the Esso roof to get a few over head shots, like the first one in the post. Thanks to all the riders who took time out to ride for a good cause!

I was so excited when I got the above shot on the computer. I had just planned on taking the image of the Harley logo, and when I got it on the computer, I noticed how clear the reflection was in the tank of all the riders lined up.  :)

Sunlight and smiles

I’m so happy that weather has been cooperating lately for me and my clients. I’ve had so many beautiful days in the last little while! This happy couple made the drive down from Regina tonight, and we had a busy fun time together. Mr. Mohawk was in a wedding party as a ring bearer a few years ago, and believe it or not, I swear I recognized him as soon as I saw him! I’m awesome with faces, terrible with names. If I take pictures of you, I’ll know you in 10 years, but I’ll never figure out why or what your name is.

Here’s a handful of images we got tonight. I see this first one as a canvas. Beautiful cuddles, and big chocolately brown eyes. Perfect art.  :)

Fall session availability

O.k. So here’s the deal. I’m basically full for fall up until the end of October. I will be taking a few more sessions in November, but they will likely be studio sessions, unless we get a great fall (unlikely judging by the summer weather we’ve had!) It’s been so hard this year turning people away, but with 6 more fall weddings, it’s tricky to keep up on the computer end of things if I take on too many sessions during the week.

GRADS - I am going to be starting a list of grad students who would like to do their casuals this fall. Depending on how well I’m keeping up, I may be able to squeeze in a few grad sessions during the day in October, but I can’t make any promises yet. If you would like to be on a waiting list for October, please give me a call and I’ll mark your name down.  No evening sessions will be available as those times are all booked. These would be during the day, hopefully during a spare.  E-mail me at pmphoto@sasktel.net

Agility is an asset

One of the bridesmaids from Saturday’s wedding was snapping candids all day long and she caught me in a few. Sometimes the shot requires a bit of creative positioning on my part. Who needs step ladders??  The shot that I got when in this Spiderman pose is #16  on the first blog post of this past weekend’s wedding. It’s the close up image of the bride looking up at me. My favorite shot to do of girls. It’s always flattering, and always makes for sparkly eyes.  Thanks Teri for the action shots!

Let the 2010 grad season begin!!!

For any regular blog followers, you all probably know that I LOVE shooting grad sessions. They are so much fun for me, but by the end of June, I’m pretty much burnt out.  I get July off before I get to start back in with casuals, and that’s just the right amount of time. I really do miss it in when I don’t get to do grad sessions for those few weeks in the summer.

What a gorgeous girl to start off my new year with.  :)   She was gracious enough to let my 8 year old tag along, and push her way through waist high grass, thistles and weeds in a skirt and flip flops. Thanks for being a good sport.  I am so glad to be back in action with the grad classes of 2010!!!!!

Part II!

Well, I was going through the wedding pictures again, and found some more that I wanted to post. I forgot to put up stuff from the reception, so those had to be added!

A full day of love

After a morning of nasty winds and the threat of rain, the afternoon shaped up perfectly for an outdoor wedding.  We had a lot of great locations to use, and we shot a TON of pictures! I had help again from Josie, and she was great as always. The first, second and fifth images in the post were all her ideas. I’m loving having her come with me to help out!

This was the only wedding in which I was there to cover the entire day with everyone. I was there from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and I had a wonderful time all day. I got fed well, laughed lots, and got to see a bunch of past wedding couples at the dance. I thought after I left that I should have gotten a picture of myself with all my former brides.  There were three couples that I spotted that I had photographed weddings for, the couple of the day, and a couple that’s booked in for next year.  I love my small town weddings, and I love getting to run into people years down the road whom I’ve photographed.

Congratulations you guys. Thanks for having me spend close to 12 hours with you the day of your wedding! I’m glad you had as much fun as I did!

Almost 1

I have to start off with an apology for going so long without a post, but we were supposed to be gone on holidays this past week. That unfortunately didn’t work out, but the upside was I really caught up this week, as I had no sessions booked. So tonight was my first night shooting in over a week, and I had a terrific little man to welcome me back. He was a sweetheart. I photographed his parent’s wedding a few years ago, and have done many of their friends weddings as well, one of which is tomorrow! I really love seeing my past wedding couples starting their families and coming to me for baby/toddler/family pics. My buddy here is a perfect mix of mom and dad’s looks I think. I can definately see both of them in his kissable baby face.  It was so nice to meet you buddy!

He’s in the early stages of walking, so we got a few shots of him trying out his legs. I just love the excitement on his face in the first frame!!  :)
